How to Cleanse and Clear your Crystals

Crystals and Gemstones have been eagerly sought after for thousands of years as items of beauty and items of power with mysterious gifts.  There are many ways crystals and other stones have been used to enhance daily life.

Each crystal or stone has a potential of specialized gifts for us.  Each can draw in and radiate healing energy specific to each stone and or amplify spiritual energies. The uses of crystals and stones as energy transmitters of spiritual information and vibration is almost unlimited.  Therefore when using crystals in healing sessions you must always cleanse and clear crystals before each session.

In this post I will talk about the different methods used in cleansing and clearing your crystals for before and after your healing sessions.

*****Medical Disclaimer***** Crystal healing and energy is not a substitute for traditional medical treatment. If someone has a serious health issue they should see a Doctor or other appropriate health professional and make complimentary healing part of their complete health care program.  All healing is self healing and the practitioner works with crystals and with other methods to assist themselves and others in facilitating their own healing.

Cleansing your Crystals:
Below are the many ways of cleansing your crystals. I have tried every single method and I find each one to be just as effective as the other.

Smudging: You can smudge your crystals with sage, sweet grass, cedar, sandle wood, epsom salts, incense, or other clearing smoke or incense.  Fanning the smoke over them or holding them in the smoke, make sure that all sides of the stones are placed in the smoke.  This works well and can be used on delicate crystals that cannot be placed in water or salt without damaging them.  There is less possibility of sparks if you have your smudge material in a dish or shell sitting on a trivet. Use a fan to direct the smoke rather than waving a smudging stick around.

Other Crystals:  Small crystals can be cleared by leaving them on a large crystal cluster.  either a clear Quartz, Amethyst or using a Selenite wand.  Other crystals will work for this too but Quartz, Amethyst and Selenite are the most and best used.  It is preferable that the cluster have points in many directions if possible, as it it said to be the multiple stems of energy that clear the resting stones.

Breath:  Breathe techniques are very effective for small pieces.  Hold the stone to be cleared in your dominate hand.  Take a deep breathe in through your nose and focusing your intention on clearing the stone, expel your breath firmly onto the stone from your nose. Repeat until you have covered all sides of the stone. Long slow exhalation or short quick bursts are effective. You can also take a deep breath through your nose and holding the stone in either hand with your mouth slightly open, expel your breath through your mouth slowly over the stone while making the "ha" sound.

Light:  White Light and Rainbows either from natural light or energetically can be used.  White, Gold, Violet, and Blue light is commonly but not exclusively used.  Visualizing the Purple Flame is more often used for self clearing but has been used for crystals as well.  You can also visualize the color of white light flooding the crystals or actually expose them to the light.  You can use gems or colored glass as a color source. Holding the crystal in the rainbows cast by a prism  is a gentle way to clear and charge a clear Quartz crystal.

Sound:  Toning, bell ringing, singing bowls, drumming, playing healing music, chanting, and other clearing with sound can also be effective. The "Om" chant is one of my favorites for this method.  Some people have even suggested using a pitch pipe and using the tone that is assigned to each chakra.

Sun and Moon:  This is my go to method for cleansing my own crystals.  Placing crystals in Sunlight or Moonlight is also great for clearing and charging them.  Please note that some stones may fade or are otherwise distressed by direct sunlight. (Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Citrine, Celestite (particularly the blue one), Aquamarine, Moonstone and Fluorite).  Some Turquoise may also fade. So I suggest using moonlight or another method for these stones. I cleanse my moonstone in the moonlight.  Stones are left in Bright Sunlight usually around 3 hours to all day but a strong sunlight can take as little as 30 minutes.  For Moonlight, I suggest leaving all night during a full moon.

Earth:  Bury your crystals in the Earth for a few days to give them rest and clear them.  Stones that you feel carry an extremely negative energy can be buried in Earth for an entire moon cycle or longer.  Some rocks and minerals such as hematite and other iron rich stones can rust or fall apart in the Earth.  You will also need to make sure to mark the location of  your buried crystals so you can find them again.  Animals have also been known to dig them up and carry them off.

Flowers, Feathers, and Sand:  Gentler and slower methods include immersing the stones in rose petals, lavender petals, sage, thyme, rosemary leaves, feathers, or charged sand.  Putting the stone on a sacred alter or in a place with healing energies will also work.

Angels:  There are Angels, Elementals and other spiritual beings who can and will clear your crystals when you ask them.  Learning to connect with your higher self and Guardian Angel will help you learn to work with "crystal people" in a deeper way.

Animal Chakra Colors and the Crystals Associated with them

Animal Chakras have the same colors as the human ones for the first Main 7. The 8th Chakra which is the Brachial Chakra is black. The main 8 are listed below.

The Bud Chakras that are located on the feet, and on the skin on the base of each ear opening are Aqua in color and the 21 Sensory Chakras are a Pale Silver Blue.

For those that are not energy healers, one can use crystals to help heal and cleanse their animals chakras. The crystals can transmit crystal energy, other healing energies, and can amplify chi or energies generated or tuned into by intention or intuitive reception.  Below is a list of crystals for the first 8 main chakras. I will be doing another post on how to use your crystals in a healing session for yourself and for your pets. I will also be talking about how to set the intent and how to cleanse your crystals.

Spending time in meditation with the animal can be beneficial for healing and activating this centre---and each and all of the chakras. While meditating, visualize the animal being restored to good physical health and well-being.

Associated crystals that benefit the animal's Crown chakra are Diamond, amethyst, clear quarts crystals, all violet and clear colored rocks and gemstones.

Animal Brachial Chakra (8th Key chakra)

Animals have an 8th Chakra referred to as the Brachial Chakra which humans do not have. Is is the main energy center in all animals and links directly to all the other chakras. When preforming any healing work on an animal it is recommended to begin with the Brachial Chakra. Location: Either side of the body, in the shoulder area.
Anatomocal Correspondances: None
Associated ColorBlack
Attributes: This is the centre that governs the Animal-Human interaction, and where the animal-human bond is formed and carried.

Sacral Chakra Issues: Imbalance may result in the animal being extremely fearful of human contact. The animal may be extremely timid when around humans, or may run away; they may also show signs of aggression and hostility when approached.

Healing and Activating: The Brachial Chakra of an animal can be awakened and balanced using hands-on or distant reiki (Reiki healing can be used on all of the animal chakras). Positive affirmations can also be used in the healing process. Increasing the amount of loving human contact with the animal (if animal allows) will also benefit this chakra.

Associated crystals that benefit the animal's Brachial chakra are tiger's eye, snowflake, obsidian, carnelian and all black colored rocks and gemstones.

Animals have a Chakra System too!

Chakras, are the energy centers of the body.  The word chakra is Sanskrit for wheel or disk and signifies one of the seven basic energy centers in the body.  Each of these centers correlates to major nerve ganglia branching forth from the spinal column.  Chakras also correlate to levels of consciousness, sounds, colors, body functions and the developmental stages of life.

The human body has 7 major energy centers. Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart,  Throat, Third Eye, and Crown.

The animal body has 8 Major, 21 Minor, and 6 Bud chakras. They also have a Major chakra that is unique to them called the brachial chakra. In addition to these, they also share the the 7 major chakras with humans.

The Brachial chakra is located between the shoulders on both sides of the body.  It is the main energy center and is connected and linked to all the other chakras.  When you start a healing you will want to start at the brachial chakra. This will benefit both you and the animal.

The Bud chakras are located on each  foot (pad, paw, hoof) and on the skin on the base opening of each ear. They are receptive to subtle energy vibrations such as weather conditions like thunderstorms and earthquakes.  The ones on the feet also help to source energy from the ground.

The 21 minor chakras are sensory so they are found in the ears, nose, and tail.

When chakras are in balance everything feels great and runs smoothly because everything is aligned, balanced and we feel good in our own skin.  When these energy centers are out of balance they can throw off a human and animals energy system.  Some are under-active and not open fully and it makes the others pick up the slack of the under-active ones. Others are over-active and pull energy from the others.  Both of these can cause an off balanced state in both humans and animals, so the key is to keep all in balance. When you work on chakras (human or animals), you must work on all of them at once not just on (i.e the root chakra).  I will be making another post on how to heal and balance both human and animal chakras even if you are not an energy worker, so please stay tuned......

Healing Music for your Pets

Good Afternoon Everyone!! I thought I would make a post on Healing Music for animals.  They benefit from it as much as we do.  It also helps them reduce stress, anxiety, depression, lower blood pressure and calm the body.  To get those benefits though, animals need to listen to frequencies on a higher level or higher vibration just like we do. Anything around 432 hz or 528 hz is beneficial.  So we need to play music that has been composed at that frequency.

I have been playing healing music from YouTube for my rescue husky Amera. She absolutely loves it. She falls asleep every time I put it on, which tells me it helps her and she is benefitting from listening to it. It also calms me as much as it calms her.

Below are some YouTube videos that I play for Amera. If anyone plays them for their animals please leave a comment below on how it impacted them or is helping them in any way. I would love to hear of any success stories.

***Amera Breakthrough**** Month 5 update (March)

I am so happy to report that we had an Amera breakthrough that I have been waiting a while for. This happened just last week on March 8th which is also my birthday. I really couldn't have asked for a better birthday gift.

So most people who follow this blog already know Amera mostly eats when we are sleeping. There have been occasions where she will take a bite or two in front of us but that was very rare. So last week on the 8th I woke up and filled her food bowl (like I always do)  and for the very first time she got excited. I have never seen her get excited for her bowl of food before. So I put it down in front of her and went into the kitchen to do some dishes. I of course wasn't expecting anything to happen and my son was in the living room watching tv where Amera was. As I was doing the dishes I heard chewing all of a sudden. I looked over and Amera was eating her food right in front of us. She saw I had seen her and stopped eating for a second. I reassured her it was ok to eat her breakfast cause we weren't going to take it. At this point I wasn't sure if she would continue to eat or stop and go back and lay down in her bed, but to my surprise she continued eating. She had eaten her entire bowl in front of us and then again at night time. It is now March 16th a week later and I am happy to say that she continues to eat in front of us now without any issues.

This was the best birthday I have had in a long time and I'm so lucky and thankful that she is apart of our family.

The picture below I was able to take of her eating her food in front of us for the very first time.

******Amera Update****** Month 4 (February)

Amera Month 4 update

Not a lot to report besides she is still loving her walks when its not icy outside and we aren't buried in snow. she is still receiving her Reiki and TTouch sessions, but we are now doing them only twice a week now. She still loves her Kong toy to chew on and the Thundershirt I bought is still helping her with her anxiety. I have also been playing her healing music 🎶 during my sons nap time off of Youtube everyday. They both seem to fall asleep listening to it. I have surprisingly also fallen asleep to it, it is very calming. I can definitely see that it is helping her relax more. I will go ahead and make another post on some of the healing music videos that I play for her, but other than that she is doing great with her progress.

The pic below is right after our walk! It was about 45 degrees out so she was loving the warmer weather!

TTouch Ace Bandage Wraps for your Pets

Hi Everyone!! So I promised I would make a post on TTouch Ace Bandage Wraps for those who cannot afford a Thundershirt. Below are a some videos with instructions on how to wrap your pet. All you need are some Ace Bandages, which are really cheap. You can find them at your local drugstore or even at Walmart.

The first video is on a live Golden Retriever. The instructor shows how to do a half wrap as well as a full wrap with leg wraps.  The second video shows how to do a half body wrap and the last video shows all three again but on a stuffed animal.  These techniques do work, before I purchased a Thundershirt I was using the Ace Bandages. The reason I made the switch was to see how different the two were in comparison and after using both I can confidently say that they work the same. If you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment below.

Amera 3 month Update (January)

Month 3 January

Hi Friends!! So this is the month three update. There is not too much to report but a few things. Below is a list of some of the progress over just the last month.

1. Amera loves eating snacks and wet dog food from a Kong still. It’s the only toy she will play with. We tried playing with a ball and a rope toy but she just isn't interested with those things yet. She loves dog bone treats still and is getting better with taking treats from my hand.

2. The Thundershirt is working. There was a time Amera would never nap in front of us or strangers and now she passes out taking a nap during anytime of the day. The shirt really does help calm her and I’ve definitely noticed a difference in her behavior.

3. She experienced her first nor’easter and we got about a foot of snow. She hated it as much as I did but the next day I noticed she enjoyed some of that fluffy snow a bit.

4. She is getting better around different people. Our neighbor even commented about how she didn’t run into the corner in the elevator and cower like she used to. This time she stood in between us with confidence and she has been getting better and better with strangers.

5. She is still enjoying her reiki treatments and TTouch sessions. She has gotten much calmer from them, they really do help.

Overall for the last three months we have been seeing some excellent progress, we couldn't be happier and she is such a wonderful dog. 💖

Small Amera update that happened on December 27th (Kong Toy)

*****December 27th

Hi friends just a small update....

Amera got a Kong for Christmas and she absolutely loved it when I first introduced it to her. These are great toys for all dogs to keep them busy. A lot of people stuff them with different things like peanut butter, wet dog food, treats etc... Some people freeze them so it takes the dog longer to get to the good stuff at the bottom and some give them to their dogs plain without putting in the freezer. I stuff Ameras with a little bit of dog kibble on the bottom to block the hole and then I put wet dog food in on top of the kibble. Sometimes I put bacon training treats in there. We tried the Peanut Butter but she didn't like it....

The pic below is Amera loving her Kong toy filled with wet dog food and treats on the bottom. This is also the first time she is playing with a toy since she has been with us 🐾😀

***We got our Kong toy from Chewy.com they run from $3-$10 depending on size. I recommend going with a Size  Larger than your dogs size. (eg. Our Husky is Medium sized we bought a Large Kong) The Large Kong was about $6.69

The Thundershirt and why you should get one for your dog!!

So I ordered the Thundershirt for Amera in December right before Christmas! I have heard nothing but good things about it and read so many success stories! It works like the TTouch Ace bandage wrap I learned about in 2015 but covers more of the body. (I will post about the TTouch Ace bandage wrap in another post for folks who cannot afford a vest). So the vest works by putting pressure on pressure points to relieve stress and anxiety. It releases endorphins to make your dog calm. It’s like a natural Prozac. Its also similar to a hug and when a baby is being swaddled.

Santa came early this year for Amera and delivered her Thundershirt. She wasn’t thrilled when I first put it on her but I’m thinking it may be working judging by the after pics 😍🐾🎄

***I recommend this product for any rescue dog or non rescue dog that is scared or having anxiety. I hear this shirt works great for dogs afraid of Thunderstorms, hence the name "Thundershirt"

Best Dog Collar for Rescues!!!

Every Rescue Dog is different. Some are scared, shy, timid, fearful, others are outgoing, jumpy and super friendly. All dogs however they may be can back out of their collar at anytime. The first thing I did when I got my rescue dog was take the buckle collar off and put a pink Martingale collar on her! I cannot stress enough on the importance of these collars and how great they truly are. What this collar does is it stops them from backing up and slipping out, which my dog does if spooked on walks! This is a product that I Highly Recommend!!! If you have a new rescue I encourage you to look into these collars I promise you, you won't be disappointed and the best part is, you won't have to worry about your new rescue getting loose and escaping during a walk.

***We purchased our Martingale collar at Petsmart but Chewy.com and Amazon.com always has them and the best deals. They run about $4-$5 on Chewy.com and Bout $8 on amazon depending on the size.  I will have a link to the Amazon ones on the blog.

Amera month 2 update (December)!!!

Dec 10

Hi friends!! Here is Amera's month 2 update...

So Aside from Amera seeing snow for the first time and being a bit confused and scared, the more we take her out in the snow the better she is getting. She is also starting to let me pet her more and more and hug her without walking away. I think she even enjoys that little rub behind the ear. A few times she has fallen asleep to me rubbing her down and doing reiki treatments. We had a huge step happen when she starting to take treats from my hand! This is great progress for future clicker training. She also had her first vet visit and did amazing. She tested negative for everything and is very healthy!
She is doing great with people who come over to visit, and she even let a neighbor pet her!

Amera's First Snow Experience in December!!!!!

Hi everyone!! Here are some videos of Amera seeing snow for the very first time! It is not the reaction everyone was hoping for but she handled it better than the rain! We don’t really take her off leash a lot because we live in the city and she can easily jumpthat black fence right here in the videos! I’m not sure if having her off leash frightened her a bit she seemed more skiddish but that could also be because of the snow! I’m sure one day she will love it but the first time just wasn’t it!

***Also we were out for a good 40 minutes hoping she would play in it but she just sat there....

Amera early updates November 13th and 28th

****Just a side note, please bear with me on these posts from the past. I am doing my best to get up to speed for everyone new who is following as well as the people who are currently following from my personal FB page.

*****Early updates

November 13th

Had a breakthrough with Amera! She finally came to me when I grabbed her leash to take her outside! #onedayatatime #babysteps

November 28th

Amera is completely transitioned from the crate to the point where if offered she won’t even go in it! She just got her new comfy bed today from chewy.com and she loves it. Her Christmas toys came as well but they got wrapped and put under the tree for Christmas Day. She’s been sleeping for about a 1/2 hr now zonked out in her new bed and she is actually sleeping right next to me now because her other spot in the house got taken over by the Christmas tree. She adjusted very well to her new spot and I think she LOVES her new bed! So proud of my girl!! 😍🐾

Amera update 1st Month (November)

1 Month update (November 10th)

Over the first month I was able to get Amera professionally groomed for the first time in her life (see first post pic with bandana). Also my husband and I, along with our 1 yr old son are also dedicated walkers so we started taking Amera with us on our 2 mile walks. We can always see a difference in her during these walks, we think they are the best therapy for her. We are spiritual people and nothing is better than going out and connecting with mother nature.

Over the course of the first month aside from the grooming and walks, Amera has actually made quite a bit of progress in the first month. Enough to actually compile a list.
Below is a list of her progress....

1. Has fully transitioned to dog food both wet and dry

2. Will eat her food in front of us some days. She mostly prefers eating at night when we are asleep.

3. Going to Bathroom on a regular schedule (as I mentioned in the first post she was going every 12 hrs or so due to anxiety and change)

4. Has adapted to our families schedule

5. Still loves 2 mile walks and car rides and is in love with this colder weather.

6. Has come out of her crate twice when we were home without having to leash her to get her out of the crate.

7. Has transitioned to baths at home

8. Allows me to brush her weekly without shaking from being scared

9. Has adjusted to being in her crate in the living room near us. (at first she was in the guest room)

10. Is not afraid of my husband or son anymore and is getting used to strangers. (she is still somewhat skittish)

Overall she has made great progress in month 1 and We couldn’t be happier having her in our lives! ❤️🐾

My Holistic Approach to Healing my Husky Rescue

My approach to helping my dog is much different than most people. I didn't start out with any basic training or getting a behavior trainer. I started with a holistic approach. I have been communicating and healing animals with a Holistic Therapy called Reiki since 2008. In 2008 I got Certified as a Reiki Master Teacher in Usui Shiki Ryoho as well as Karuna where I learned to heal both humans and animals. I am also Introduction Certified in a Therapy called TTouch for animals which I got in 2015 and lastly I am Certified in Basic Obedience Dog Training level 1 since January 2016. I have been intuitively communicating with animals since 2008. I also communicate with animals who have crossed over the rainbow bridge.

I started intuitively communicating and doing Reiki Treatments with Amera since the first day I got her. She needed a lot of healing and till this day she still does. She wears a triquetra pendant on her collar that is infused with Reiki energy and gets a few hands on treatments each month. I also do other holistic therapeutic remedies for her which I will mention in other blog posts, so please follow me if you are interested in learning more about how I'm helping her heal and how to do these holistic remedies for your pets at home...

Also I am offering my services to anyone that needs help with healing any type of animal. Whether it be a healing, to communicate with pets who are alive, or those who have crossed over.

I will put my email address on this page for anyone who is interested in any of my services.

Amera's Journey and How I'm helping my Rescue Adjust to a new life!

This blog is dedicated to ALL rescues...

Everybody knows that a rescue dog always holds a special place in our hearts. Well this holds true to me as well. This is my Siberian Husky rescue. I rescued her back in October of last year (2017) from the dessert of Saudi Arabia. She was living in 122 degree weather and had never seen snow in her life. Word has it, she came from part of the Royal Family over there and her rescuers named her Amera which means "Princess" in Arabic. I absolutely fell in love with the name and decided not to change it when she came to live with me and my family. She did not have it easy over there but since I have gotten her, her life has gotten much better.  The first few weeks weren't easy. Amera would hide in her crate, would barely eat her food, and she would not want to go to the bathroom for more than 12 hrs at a time. She was very shy and scared, she did not like to be touched. She was also not treat motivated for any basic training. I myself am a Basic Obedience Level 1 dog trainer and I even brought out the big guns for treats (steak, cheese, hot dogs, etc..). She would not eat any of it, not even from my hand. From the first day forward I knew it was going to be a long road ahead but with a lot of love and patience I knew she would come around.

I would like to start off by sharing Ameras journey with everyone in honor of all rescues, because all rescues need love and healing and a place to call home. This blog is for them.

Also please note: I am a few months behind on making this blog so I will be posting monthly updates starting from last October so please be sure to check on those as well :)
