So now that we have talked about how to cleanse and clear your crystals, lets talk about how to charge them. Charging is an old term for offering energy to the crystal. Some find this term offensive but its actually offering energy as a gift to the crystal, both for healing and as an exchange of energy information to and for the crystal.
Please note some of the cleansing methods mentioned in the last post will also charge your crystals and no other attention is needed for this purpose. An overworked crystal may want and need to rest for a while before being reused. Some crystals may not need to be charged at all. Tune into the crystal before you offer charging. Crystals that do not often need charging will often accept it. Also sometimes even a cleared crystal will seem under energized or even lifeless. With agreement of the stone it can be charged or amplified using the methods below. Now there are a lot of ways to charge a crystal. Too many to actually put here in this blog, so I will list the top ones that most energy healers use and which ones I have used and found effective.
You will want to cleanse and charge your crystals before and after each healing session you do.

Before charging you will want to start with a crystal with clear energy.
Universal Life Force: This is my go to method I use and have access to Reiki: You can charge the stones with Universal Life Force Energy or and healing energy that you have access to. Run the energy into the stone while holding or touching it. If you are skilled at remote work you can do this without touching the stones even from a distance. This method can also be used for clearing a stone but I recommend it more for charging.
Holding the stone: I use this one frequently. I just hold the stone and intend that its natural energies be restored and/or amplified using a scale of 1-10. You can use a scale of 1-30 but that is recommended for practitioners who have worked with crystals gradually over the course of 1 year with specialized training in accord with maximum good and highest purpose.
Personalization: You can personalize a stone for yourself or others. This will call in harmonious energies and turn off inharmonious energies. You can also use this intention to recover programming or memories that have been cleared out previously.
Larger or Smaller stones of the same kind: If you have a piece of the same stone that is fully energized, you can place the undercharged stone next to or on it and ask that the weak stone match it and be restored to the full level of its potential.
Sacred Place: A sacred place may be some area in the forest, a temple or the seashore. It may take only a short time for a crystal to become clear in a scared place, perhaps less than an hour in some cases.
Below is a list of methods that are the same as cleansing. Please see my last post on cleansing to learn how to charge and cleanse at the same time. I personally use the cleansing methods to cleanse and for charging I use reiki.

How do I know if my crystal is fully charged? Most people develop a sense of intuition over time about when their crystals are charged and how long it will take for a specific crystal to charge. The crystal may also seem brighter, clearer, lighter, and shinier. It may also feel more pleasant when touched. Energy workers may feel an energy shift when the crystal is charged.
Some people also visualize a meter or gauge or other indicator that will give a read out on percentage of the charge that is done.
Try some of these methods out. I am sure there are other ways you may find to charge your crystals. Just remember that these techniques are always to be done with respect for and in harmony with nature of your crystal.
